Two Years in 10 Steps

Two years in 10 steps, or my journey so far:

1. Decide that it's time for a change and that you want to focus on helping growing companies scale without blowing up their cultures.

2. Leave a great, stable job in the early days of a pandemic (thanks 8th Light).

3. Get introduced to Sam Lee and IndeCollective (thanks Mark Rickmeier)

4. Start working with a few fantastic companies, beginning our engagements with an organizational assessment. Realize that these assessments highlight a few consistent challenges across organizations.

5. Address these challenges by:
- Designing a methodology to guide companies in building custom career progressions centered in their values, that reward all kinds of contributions to both the business and the culture rather than just promoting ‘brilliant assholes'.
- Partnering with Heather Corallo to create the Mindful Manager Training Program (stay tuned for more on that soon!).

6. Take multiple companies through the career progression project and manager training cohort, continuing to iterate and improve both.

7. Add fractional COO/advisory services, helping founders of wildly different businesses (Salesforce to sex tech!) sharpen their focus, streamline operations, and create actionable plans to reach their goals.

8. Cofound Kermit Collective, scratching the itch to contribute to the community and bring people together in a way that helps grow businesses and individuals.

9. Wake up on October 1st and realize you’ve been doing this for TWO YEARS. Time really does fly when you’re having fun!

10. Join IndeCollective's next cohort to keep getting better at running my own business.

What a ride. Can't wait to see what year 3 brings.
